Focus on U.S. PPI – TD Securities

Analysts at TD Securities are projecting U.S. PPI inflation to be flat m/m in August, following a 0.2% increase in July.

  • “The underlying measures are expected to rebound 0.2% after negative prints in the month before. On an annual basis, headline PPI and core inflation are likely to print 1.7% and 2.2%, respectively.”

EIA’s report reveals a smaller-than-expected increase in U.S. crude oil inventories
The U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed on Wednesday that crude inventories increased by 0.414 million barrels in the week ended February 14. Economists had forecast an advance of 2494 million barrels. At the same time, gasoline stocks declined by 1.971 million barrels, while analysts had expected a gain of 0.435 million barrels.
